RANCHO CORDOVA, Sacramento County — Rancho Cordova celebrated Arbor Day in April 2026 with a community planting at Lincoln Village Community Park, where volunteers added 18 trees donated by Sacramento Tree Foundation and SMUD.
The city’s announcement highlights a continuing program with Sacramento Tree Foundation offering Rancho Cordova residents up to ten free shade trees. A separate city Stump Removal and Replacement Program may help qualifying properties remove existing stumps and obtain replacement trees.
How to request trees
Read the current eligibility and planting conditions on the city’s official free-tree program page before submitting a request. Availability, property suitability and program conditions may affect approval. Residents should ask whether underground utilities, tree species or planting location require special review. The April announcement does not guarantee immediate availability of every species.
